My Left Foot
Remember the movie My Left Foot?
It was an Oscar-winning film with Daniel Day-Lewis about 30 years ago.
Inside the movie, he played a severely disabled boy.
…Only able to move his left foot.
Daniel had some severe behavioral problems.
He was a real handful and really frustrated.
Until that is…
One day-quite by accident- his family realized he was…
A GENIUS!
…And able to create amazing world-class artwork.
After that realization- everything changed.
The intelligence and gifts he had were unlocked.
His frustration and behavior problems stopped and there was an incredible Hollywood ending (a fairytale ending)
Here’s the point…
Inside your dog-there is incredible intelligence too.
I’ve seen it in hundreds of Dogs I’ve worked with.
And once you unlock that intelligence.
Most behavioral problems simply melt away.
And the bond between you and your dog grows stronger.

Which Dog Behavior Problems You Don’t Understand?
Sometimes you stop and look at him and think, what’s he up to?
If you’ve observed your four-legged man’s behaviour at least once without fully understanding it, try looking for it in this little list. Often behind a curious attitude, there is a scientific explanation.
1. WHY IS HE RUNNING IN CIRCLES TRYING TO CATCH HIS TAIL?
It’s not a sign of insanity. The famous dog that bites the tail of the proverb does indeed exist, and the reason is often medical: he could have a simple genital discomfort, and itching perhaps due to fleas, a dermatitis that leads him to try in every way to feel relief.
In any case, if the attitude repeats itself and the dog doesn’t stop even after having made him entertain and distracted, it is better to consult the vet.
2. WHY IS HE OVERFLOWING YOU WITH LICKS?
Festive, repeated, and… very wet, are the sweet licks of your four-legged dog, which often arrive unexpectedly, other times in a moment of relaxation and tenderness between you.
But why does the dog feel the need to lick your hands, and sometimes your face too? The reasons are different: the first and most trivial one is that it is a way to show you his affection. The second one is that maybe he has understood that when he makes the dessert… he receives something in return, maybe more cuddles or a crunch.
There are also more scientific reasons: many studies claim that licking is a sensory experience on a par with rubbing or smelling something. Or it could be a reminder of her past: on the other hand, the mother repeatedly licks her newborn puppies…
3. WHY DOES SHE PUT HER HEAD TO ONE SIDE AND LOOK AT YOU?
Who hasn’t? She stops, looks at you, and bends her head to one side, with those irresistibly sweet eyes. If before you melt into a hug you’ve asked yourself at least once why he does it, here’s the answer: he’s trying to understand what you said to him.
Often this attitude appears after strange noises, a few screams, or a command that the four-legged man has struggled to understand. And so, the bent head corresponds precisely to a phase of the effort. Maybe he’s just telling you: Sorry, what do you want from me?
4. WHY IS HE HOWLING AT THE SKY?
There’s no full moon, he ate and the walk is already over, yet your dog lurks at the window and howls repeatedly at the sky. While for wild wolves it is completely normal and is a way of calling back the pack, for the domestic dog it is often a traditional way of communicating with his fellow humans.
If most of the time we do not understand the reason for his howling, it is often because it is a sound in response to noise with frequencies that are imperceptible to us or very different. Have you ever heard the dog respond to a siren with his beautiful voice? It’s his way of saying “I’m here”, even if there isn’t a herd listening on the other side.
5. WHY DOES HE TAKE A LITTLE WALK ON HIMSELF BEFORE HE GETS ON HIS BACK?
Once again, it is a tradition that drives this canine behavior. He takes a couple of turns on himself as if he were inspecting his kennel and then sits down and relaxes for a nap.
And yet, everything is as it has always been! Scientists link this “ride” to what wild wolves and wild dogs do in the woods and in the wild before going to bed in the evening. With their paws, in fact, these dogs lay down the foliage and the ground to prepare the kennel for rest.
